Fly into Livingstone
Met by Green Safaris Conservation Foundation, who are involved in an ever-growing number of conservation, community, and environment initiatives in the Simoonga and Livingstone areas. Visit to the Tongabezi Trust School to see their wildlife clubs and human-wildlife conflict training initiatives in action and a visit to the Mukuni Community Farm which is run jointly by the Tongabezi team and Mukuni community to promote food sustainability by supporting residents to grow their own food gardens and experience and learn the sustainable farming training they do there.
Visit Livingstone Island – Your tour begins by departing by boat for Livingstone Island from the Livingstone island Launch Site. The guides will let you in on the incredible history of the island as you follow the footsteps of Dr David Livingstone all the way to the edge of the waterfall. Depending on river heights, prepare to be drenched in the spray from the Falls or watch a rainbow stretch across the open gorge. Those who wish can even take a dip in Devil’s Pool or Angel’s Pool, and everybody completes the experience with a 5-star gourmet meal prepared for you on the island itself.
You will be introduced to the CATS (Conservation & Tourism Society) project in Livingstone . This is an opportunity to learn about the challenges of living with elephants on your doorstep.

Cross the border at Pandamatenga and drive into Hwange National Park.
Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest park, covering an area of 14 600km² (more than 5,600 square miles.) and consists of various landscapes. From the desert scrubs curbing the Kalahari, to granite hills, woodlands filled with mopane and teak, as well as wide grass plains fringed by palm trees and acacias. This landscape diversity accommodates a flourishing wide range of wildlife. With over 100 species of mammals and almost 400 species of birds, Hwange National Park also contains one of the largest elephant populations in the world. Other rare animals regularly spotted include the roan and sable antelope. With an abundance of food, massive herds of buffalo can also be spotted traversing Hwange’s grass plains.
Deteema Springs is a small concession area in a well-known northern region of the Hwange National Park. Close to the Deteema dam, the camp is perched on a rocky rise above permanent springs, offering magnificent views of large concentrations of animals, including elephants. Deteema offers amazing opportunities for walking safaris and viewing wildlife from the comfort of the camp.
