The itinerary…

Day 1: Take to the skies…

Take the overnight flight from London Heathrow, or selected other UK airports, to Johannesburg.

Day 2: Welcome to Africa!

Connect on arrival in Johannesburg with the flight to Livingstone in Zambia. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge to check in.

Head to the Livingstone meeting point and get ready for your first day exploring Victoria Falls – one of the natural wonders of the world. After an exciting afternoon excursion, return back to the Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge.

Day 3: Victoria Falls – One of the world’s most impressive natural wonders

RIVER RAFTING ON THE ZAMBEZI

Wake up and enjoy breakfast provided by the lodge before beginning day two of your Victoria Falls tour. If you’re feeling adventurous, activities include white water rafting, or an 111m bungee jump (at own expense). Return back to Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 4 – 5: To Caprivi Strip

Spend the next two days travelling through this rich game area where there are regular sightings of large elephant herds, buffalo, hippo, lion, and leopard. You will explore the Kwando River by boat and a game drive into Mahango Game Reserve. These two nights will be spent at Camp Kwando in a twin shared tent and Ngepi Camp twin shared tree house, both with en-suite and swimming facilities.

Day 6: Rundu

After a morning enjoying the abundant birdlife in and around the camp, you will travel 210km along the Kavango River – you’ll see collections of grass huts and local wooden crafts and carvings put out for sale. Spend the night at the Inkwazi Riverside Lodge in Rundu, where sunsets are just spectacular.

Day 7-8: Etosha here we come!

Etosha National Park is Namibia’s premier wildlife destination. Here you can go on game drives around the dry pan which is the park’s focal point. You’ll see plenty of wildlife, such as African elephants, rhinos, as well as herds of antelope, and lions around the waterholes, before heading to camp at Namutoni, Halali or Okaukuejo.

Day 9: Ugab Wilderness and White Lady

EXPLORE THE BRANDBERG ROCK ART

Next stop is Brandberg where you will camp next to the dry Ugab River bed, home to the rare desert-adapted elephants. You will also explore the mountains on foot with local guides, who will lead you through this region adorned with rock art including the “White Lady”.

ROCK FORMATIONS

Your journey covers some beautiful desert landscapes as you move south towards the huge granite domes that rise out of the desert at Spitzkoppe. You’ll set up camp at the foot of these massive domes, and take a walk to explore the area. The silence and wide open spaces add to the allure and once again, a marvellous sunset awaits.

Day 11 – 12: Swakopmund

Cross flat open plains to the coast where you will visit the Cape Cross seal colony. Further south is the coastal town of Swakopmund where you will have a day free to explore the town, or try sea kayaking and dune boarding (own expense). German Colonial influences are strong in the town of Swakopmund as reflected in the restaurant menus and the architecture.

Day 13 – 14: Namib Desert

Enjoy the lunar landscape that surround the town of Swakopmund as you head into the Namib desert with its towering sand dunes. Walk to Sossusvlei, explore Sesriem Canyon and from the comfort of your lodge outside the national park. Take in another fabulous sunset over the world’s highest sand dunes.

Day 15: Windhoek

WINDHOEK, CAPITAL AND LARGEST CITY IN NAMIBIA

Arrive late in the day to Windhoek – the capital and largest city in Namibia. Its charm lies in its blend of Africa and European cultures and the friendliness of its people.

Day 16: Botswana time

Cross into Botswana and stay overnight in the heart of Kalahari. You’ll take a walk with the local San (bushmen) to learn fascinating bush skills and have an insight into how these incredible people survive in such a harsh desert environment.

Day 17 – 18: The Okavango Delta

Today you travel to another of the World’s natural wonders: The Okavango Delta: your first night will be spent in preparation for your journey deep into the delta on mekoro (dugouts) – an experience not to be missed. The following two nights will be spent in tented camps on a remote island where you will enjoy game walks, swimming and the abundant birdlife in this incredible place.

Day 20: Makgadikgadi Pans

Today you will feel the vastness of Africa under a big sky sunset. After the rains, the pans fill with water and attract masses of waterbirds as well as game such as springbok, zebra, and wildebeest.

Day 21: Chobe National Park

Head through the Chobe Forest Reserve to Kasane where you settle into the Thebe River Safari – here you stay in a chalet with en-suite facilities. Chobe National Park is famous for large herds of elephant and buffalo. Your afternoon will be spent on a wildlife boat cruise.

Day 22: Zambia – Victoria Falls

This morning you will transfer across the Zambezi River on the Kazangula ferry to Livingstone where the tour end at 12 noon. Transfer to the airport to check in for your flight to Johannesburg, departing lunch time. Take the overnight flight back to London Heathrow (or selected other UK airports)

Day 23: Welcome home

Early morning arrival in London Heathrow.
